What scores and other criteria do I have to achieve?

You must take the UKVI academic IELTS test and:

·      Get a score of at least 7.0 in each test component: speaking, listening, reading and writing.

·      Get an overall score of at least 7.5.

·      Get these scores within a single test.

·      Retain the original test certificate.

Although IELTS certificates are valid for two years, the GMC has some requirements around your certificate being valid at particular points in the exam or application process, depending on which GMC registration route you are taking.

How much does the IELTS exam cost and how should I prepare?

The test costs INR 12,100 in India and test centers are available all across the country.

In addition to the fee, you’ll also need to invest some time in preparation for the IELTS test. It’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with the structure of the test itself in addition to practicing your English language speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
